At TwinsUK, we are committed to involving the public in every stage of our research – from the design of our studies to the sharing of results. Our public engagement programme has opened the door to new research opportunities, strengthened relationships with our twin volunteers, and brought our science to a wider audience through media appearances, community outreach, and educational initiatives.
We’re passionate about sharing our research and making it accessible, engaging, and relevant for everyone.
Science Events
We participate in science festivals and outreach events throughout the year. From hands-on activities to one-on-one chats with researchers, these events are a chance to bring our science to life for the public. We also host stands at awareness days such as International Clinical Trials Day, where we engage directly with the public to talk about the value of clinical research.
Schools, Colleges & Work Experience
Inspiring the next generation of scientists and health professionals is a key part of our engagement work. We deliver school workshops, visit classrooms, and welcome students into our department for work experience placements. These sessions help demystify science and show how research directly impacts people’s lives.
