“Natalie and I love being twins and we spend a lot of time together, as we have very similar interests. We jumped at the chance a few years ago to come along to the Department of Twin Research and really enjoyed the time we spent there, doing tests and meeting other sets of twins. The best part for us was, at the age of 41, having always been told that we were non-identical, we found out that we are, in fact, identical! When we told people (thinking it would be a real revelation), most people thought we were crazy and said, “Well, I could’ve told you that”!!!”

“My twin sister, Susan, and i usually plan 3 or 4 special twin trips each year – and they’re exclusively for us… no friends allowed! That way, we can have fun and quality time together. Below is a photo from a great day out at ‘Friends’ Fest.’”

“We are identical twins from South Wales.
We have done everything together; studied performing arts at college, got our Dance and English degrees together at University and went on to become backing dancers for some well-known artists. We have also been to some amazing countries worldwide as models.
We now run a successful dance school, and we both work in schools with our dogs as therapeutic practitioners. We have many funny stories, from tricking boyfriends to saving one twin from an avalanche of books falling on the other twin.”

“It’s great to be a twin, as we are unique – especially as we are identical in every way. We are very close and see each other three times a week, including one day spent looking after Denise’s grandchildren, aged 3 and 5. We like and buy the same clothes, but we don’t really like to be seen wearing the same outfit. We get lots of comments everywhere we go – ‘Are you twins?’ – but we don’t mind. We are always there for each other and have lots of fun.”

“We have been part of Twin Research for many years now. We thoroughly enjoy our visits to the team in London who are always friendly and cheerful.
Through Twin Research we found out we were identical twins from our completed questionnaires. We were always told by mum that we were fraternal twins.
Thank you, Twin Research, for confirming our suspicions! 👩❤️👩”

“Here is a photograph taken recently for our 66th birthday.
Someone said we should have a cake each – but why, we have shared so much throughout our life – so happy to share a cake.
We talk on the phone every day for at least an hour – but our husbands haven’t got a clue how we find so much to talk about. Only a twin would understand this.
We see each other at least every month and go on many afternoon tea trips every year.”
